Hammel Financial Advisory Group, a Fee-Only, holistically based financial planning and investment advisory firm, is located in Brentwood, Tennessee. Founder Richard Hammel was one of the first Fee-Only financial planners in the state and his vision of client-oriented, objective service continues today. His daughter, Melissa Hammel serves as managing partner, working in the financial industry since 1996. Melissa developed an integrated, holistic approach with clients, utilizing her skills as both an investment advisor and therapist. The firm provides services in financial planning, investment management, coaching, and counseling to families and clients in select cities across the United States. As of December 2009, Hammel Financial manages over $101 million in investment assets for our individual clients, corporate retirement plans, and non-profit organizations.

In November, 2009 Melissa Hammel presented an educational webinar to members of the National Association of Personal Financial Planners (NAPFA) throughout the US. The topic was Communication Issues with Clients Involving Grief, Loss, and Terminal Illness.

In the February 2009 issue of Redbook Magazine, Melissa Hammel, NCC, CFP, was featured as the financial expert in the Money Makeover column "I'm Drowning in Credit Card Debt!" (page 132). She provided a review, recommendations, and analysis for a reader who was struggling with debt overload and no cash, with little hope of being able to save for retirement.
